The El Dorado gold mine near Fairbanks Alaska features a train ride through the gold fields. A walking tour of the mining camp and you get to pan for gold.

Alaska state museum located in Juneau was originally established in 1900 by
an act of congress. The territory took over in 1923 and continued
storing and displaying important artifacts. The museum has over 27,000
collected objects.
